Axel SteinerAxel has judged in 35 different countries, from Zambia to World Cup Finals, Pan American, and Olympic Games. After retiring from the military in 1988, he has also concentrated on teaching, and is now a much sought after clinician throughout the country He is a long standing member of the USEF Dressage Committee, a judge instructor/examiner, and a faculty member of the USDF "L" program. Dr. Carl Kirker-Head, MA, Vet MB, DACVS, DECVS

Dr. Kirker-Head

Dr. Carl Kirker-Head is an equine surgeon, sports medicine expert, and associate professor of surgery at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. As the Marilyn M. Simpson Professor, his clinical interests range from fracture repair to corrective farriery and regenerative tissue therapy. As the director of the Orthopedic Research Laboratory, Dr. Kirker-Head’s research explores bone,
tendon, ligament, and cartilage growth, remodeling and repair. He is also involved in orthopedic device development for humans, as well as less invasive (catheter-based) interventions. He and his wife operate an equine rehabilitation center at their horse farm in Sturbridge, MA (www.rosshavenfarm.com).

Sal Salvetti, Human and Equine Massage Therapy

Sal SalvettiSal is trained and qualified in both human and equine massage therapy. He has a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. Observing the subtle nuances that horses provide as feedback, Sal correlates this to the actual feel of muscle tissue during the massage therapy session. This, combined with traditional medicine, rider feedback, top-notch daily care and training, creates the best possible environment for horses with a high performance focus.
